Find your nearest bright pink bin to recycle electricals

Bright pink bins across Cambridgeshire have resulted in nine times more e-waste being collected for recycling – amounting to over 49 tonnes of small electrical appliances.

Greater Cambridge Shared Waste Service installed the new pink bins to encourage residents to recycle their old electricals, rather than throw them away in the black bin.

Items suitable for recycling include anything with a plug or a battery – such as phones, toys, kettles, toasters and many more.

A specialist company in Thetford sorts the items, reusing items that are undamaged and uncontaminated and recycling everything else into new products.
